The term "flowering plants" refers to a group of plants that produce seeds and other reproductive structures, such as cones, fruits, and bulbs. There are about 250,000 known flowering plant species in the world today, but scientists estimate that there could be anywhere from 2.5 million to 5 million different kinds of flowering plants on Earth.
Flowering plants are distinguished from non-flowering plants by their need for sunlight to produce energy through photosynthesis. They also have specialized leaves called cotyledons (seed leaves), which form when the seed germinate. Flowering plants, or Angiosperms, are the most diverse group of seed-bearing plants in the world. They are found in every part of the globe and come in a huge variety of sizes, shapes and colors.

African violets are really beautiful. They produce a stunning, delicate blooms. Caring for your African violets is relatively simple, making them perfect for people who don't have a lot of gardening experience or who live in apartments where they can't plant flowers outside. They come in a huge variety of colors, which allows us to match any color scheme or style you might want to match in your flower basket.
Azaleas: Azaleas are flowering plants that we often use to create beautiful flower baskets. They're typically available to our designers in a variety of colors, but the most popular colors tend to be red, pink, white and purple.
The azalea is native to China and Japan, but it's also grown in the United States. It grows best in USDA hardiness zones 7 through 9 - the warmer areas of the country where there are more days with temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit (4-10 degrees Celsius). It can also be grown indoors if you live in an area that doesn't get cold enough for it outdoors during wintertime.
Azaleas generally bloom from April through May but may bloom as late as June depending on where you live and which type of plant you choose (some types bloom earlier than others). They're very easy to grow because they don't require much care - just water them occasionally during dry spells and fertilize them once or twice a year if needed."
Begonias: Begonias are perennial flowering plants that can be found in a variety of colors and sizes. They are most commonly used in floral design for their vibrant colors and easy-to-grow nature. We find that customers really seem to love begonias during the spring and summer months. That is when their bright colors and wonderful aroma can really add life to a house or office. Cyclamen: Cyclamen are a beautiful flowering plant that can be used to create beautiful, fragrant gardens. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and they're often used as ground cover because they spread so easily. These plants are not only gorgeous, but they smell amazing! Their scent is often compared to that of roses or lilacs, which makes them perfect for adding some fragrance to your garden.
Orchids: Orchids are beautiful flowers that are a favorite among our Detroit area customers. Our designers use them to create beautiful orchid and dish gardens. Orchids are stunning when used as the focal point of a blooming tropical garden design. They are hardy plants and can tolerate high temperatures and humidity. Customers love the fact that they also seem to do well in temperate environments as well. The main thing that you need to know about orchids is that they grow best in soil with good drainage and high nutrients. That is why we make sure that the soil we use is light and sandy. We try to ensure the garden does not retain too much water. Orchids have been around for thousands of years, but they're still one of the most popular plant gifts sent in the United States.
